Does AERCO recognize you as a current, trained technician? Read on...
Beginning in 2015, AERCO announced criteria for becoming and remaining a trained, current, and active technician, with the authorization to perform AERCO product start-ups, and having full access to the Tech Assist Hotline. Though several transmittals were sent to share the details, here is a brief recap:
- If you attended an ATT or AMT class in 2017 or 2018, you are current, active and trained. No additional action is required at this time.
- To retain this status, you will need to complete the Online Recertification annually, before December 1st, which can be found at www.AERCO.com > How We Support You > Training > Learning Management System > 2018 Recertification. If this is the first time you are attempting to access the Learning Management System (LMS), you will be prompted to create an account. This account is free, and is usually approved within 48 hours. Once approved, you will receive an e-mail stating that you can now log in with the credentials you entered during the account setup.
- If you attended an SST, ATT or AMT class between January, 2012, and December 31, 2016, you are current, active and trained IF you took the most recent Online Recertification. If you did not take (or did not pass) the 2015, 2016 or 2017 Online Recertification, you can take the 2018 Online Recertification - as long as you took an SST, ATT or AMT class since January 1, 2012.
- If the last time you took a Hands-on class at an AERCO Training Center was before January 1, 2012, you will need to return for either an ATT or AMT class in order to be considered active, current and trained. Simply taking the 2018 Online Recertification will not satisfy the requirement of being current if you have not been to a Hands-on training class since January 1, 2012. To sign up for an ATT or AMT class, visit our website at www.AERCO.com > How We Support You > Training > Learning Management System. Create an account (if one does not already exist), then you can view the available classes, their descriptions, the dates and locations where they will be offered, and lastly, by downloading the Enrollment Form, you can follow through the instructions to enroll for a class.
Starting in 2Q'16, the AERCO website recognizes all current, active and trained technicians! On the home page in the upper right hand corner, click on "How to Buy", and use the drop down menu to select "Service Tech". All recognized technicians will be displayed within the distance from the chosen zip code, along with the contact info for their associated Rep Firm. We feel strongly about having well trained technicians servicing our products, and for those of you who feel the same, this is one small way to promote your investment in training!
